Forklift Scoops & Buckets

Forklift scoops turn the forklift you already have into a small loader. Slide one onto the forks, lock it in place and you can scoop up sand, gravel, aggregate or spilled material, carry it across the yard and tip it into a bay, skip, trailer or hopper, without shovels or a hired loading shovel.

We stock eight forklift scoops and buckets: fork mounted or carriage mounted, with mechanical or hydraulic tipping, all with a 3-year warranty.

Scoop Capacity Tipping Min. forklift capacity Best for
Easyfill forklift scoop 0.20 to 0.50m³ Mechanical 1250 to 1750kg Sand, gravel and aggregate, every day
Easyfill hydraulic forklift scoop 0.20 to 0.50m³ Hydraulic, from the cab 1500 to 2000kg Everyday aggregate without leaving the seat
Economy forklift scoop 0.4m³ Release lever 2000kg Spills, dross and general yard clearing
High lift forklift scoop 0.20 to 1.00m³ Release lever 1500 to 3500kg Tipping at height, overspill and dross
Long reach forklift scoop 0.20 to 0.50m³ Mechanical 1500 to 3000kg Loading vans and lorries, charging hoppers
Long reach hydraulic forklift scoop 0.20 to 0.50m³ Hydraulic, from the cab 1500 to 3000kg Loading vehicles from the cab in low headroom
Calibrated forklift bucket 0.20 or 0.40m³ Mechanical 1500 to 3000kg Selling loose materials by volume
Carriage mounted forklift bucket 0.20 to 0.50m³ Hydraulic, from the cab 1500 to 2000kg A forklift used mainly as a loader

The hydraulic scoops need an auxiliary hydraulic valve on your forklift. Send us your fork sizes and forklift make and model and we'll confirm the fit. For waste and offcuts rather than loose heaps, see our forklift tipping skips, and to gather up spillage, our forklift sweepers. You can browse everything else on our forklift attachments page.

How to Choose a Forklift Scoop

Start with what you're moving and how often. If you handle sand, gravel or aggregate every day, choose a scoop built for it, with a bucket that fills easily and empties cleanly when the material is damp. For occasional clearing of spills, dross and general debris, a simpler scoop does the job for less. Then match the size to your forklift: a bigger bucket moves more per trip, but only if your truck can carry the extra weight.

Easyfill or Economy Scoop?

The Easyfill forklift scoop hangs below the forks, which keeps the load close to the mast so smaller trucks can use it: the 0.20 and 0.25m³ sizes need a forklift rated for just 1250kg. Its curved back lets wet material slide out when you tip. The economy forklift scoop sits on the forks, holds 0.4m³ in a 1250mm bucket and tips with a release lever, so you can empty it at height over a skip or hopper. It needs a forklift rated for at least 2000kg and costs less.

Mechanical or Hydraulic Tipping?

Mechanical scoops tip with a lever or handle, so they work on any suitable forklift with no hoses to connect. Hydraulic scoops tip from the cab using an auxiliary hydraulic valve on your truck, so the driver never has to get off. The Easyfill hydraulic forklift scoop, the long reach hydraulic forklift scoop and the carriage mounted forklift bucket are hydraulic, and the carriage mounted bucket lets you control the rate it pours.

Loading Vans, Lorries and Hoppers

If you load vehicles or feed hoppers, choose a long reach scoop. The bucket sits forward of the forks to reach the middle of a van or lorry, and a shallow tipping arc lets it empty where headroom is tight. The long reach forklift scoop tips mechanically, and the calibrated forklift bucket is stamped by Trading Standards so you can sell loose material by volume. For tipping at height, the high lift forklift scoop holds up to 1m³.

How Much Will a Full Scoop Weigh?

A cubic metre of sand or gravel weighs roughly 1.5 to 1.7 tonnes, and more when it's wet. That puts a full 0.25m³ scoop at around 375 to 425kg of material and a full 0.50m³ scoop at around 750 to 850kg. Add the weight of the scoop, then check the total against your forklift's capacity with the attachment fitted, which your forklift dealer can confirm.

Scoop or Tipping Skip?

A scoop loads itself: you drive into a heap and the bucket fills. A forklift tipping skip has to be filled by hand or by another machine, but it's better for bulky waste, offcuts and scrap that won't flow into a bucket. Plenty of yards use both.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a forklift scoop fit my truck?

Most of our scoops slide onto your forks, and the carriage mounted bucket fits a class 2A carriage. Send us your fork width, thickness and spread and we'll confirm before you order.

Do I need hydraulics to use a forklift scoop?

Not for the mechanical scoops. The Easyfill, economy, high lift, long reach and calibrated scoops tip mechanically, so there are no hoses to connect. The hydraulic scoops need an auxiliary hydraulic valve on your forklift.

What can I move with a forklift scoop?

Sand, gravel, aggregate, soil and other loose material that flows into a bucket. For bulky waste and offcuts, a tipping skip is the better choice.

How long does delivery take?

The Easyfill and economy scoops usually take 7 to 10 working days, and we confirm the lead time for the others with your quote. For tips on filling, carrying and tipping, read our guide on how to use a forklift scoop.
