Forklift Fork Extensions

Our forklift fork extensions, also called extension forks, fork slippers or tine extensions, slide over your existing forks so you can carry long pallets, timber packs, steel lengths and plasterboard with the load fully supported. They fit forks from 80 x 40mm up to 200 x 75mm, come in lengths from 1200mm to 2400mm, and lock on with a removable heel pin, so there's nothing to bolt on and no changes to your truck.

Both fork extension ranges are made to ISO 13284:2022, CE marked and UKCA compliant, supplied with a Certificate of Conformity and covered by a 3-year warranty.

To find your size, measure the width, thickness and length of your forks. Choose a model whose max fork section is equal to or just above your fork size, and an extension no longer than 150% of your fork length. Choosing the Right Fork Extensions

Getting fork extensions right comes down to four checks.

Match your fork section

Measure the width and thickness of each fork near the heel, where it's thickest. The extension's max fork section should be equal to or just above your fork size, so it slides on easily but doesn't rock under load.

Pick a length your forks can support

An extension should be no longer than 150% of your fork length, so the fork supports at least two-thirds of it. A 1200mm fork can take up to an 1800mm extension, and a 1600mm fork up to 2400mm. Choose the shortest length that supports your load.

Choose heavy duty or ultra heavy duty

Our heavy duty fork extensions use 6mm folded steel and suit everyday loads on 100mm and 125mm forks. Our ultra heavy duty fork extensions have a 13mm wall, fit every fork size from 80mm to 200mm and are rated up to 5800kg, so choose them for heavy, dense or frequent loads. For loads that are wide rather than long, a four fork attachment supports both ends.

Check your forklift's capacity

Fork Extension FAQs

What size fork extensions do I need?

Match the max fork section to your fork width and thickness, then choose a length no longer than 150% of your fork length. If you're not sure, send us your fork sizes and we'll confirm the right model.

Can I use fork extensions on a telehandler?

Fork extensions slide over the fork, so they can fit telehandler forks of the right size. Check with your telehandler manufacturer that extensions are approved for your machine, and send us your fork sizes so we can confirm the right model.

Do fork extensions reduce lifting capacity?

Yes. A longer fork moves the load centre further from the truck, so your forklift can safely lift less. Always check your truck's capacity at the extended load centre.

Are your fork extensions certified?

Yes. Both ranges are made to ISO 13284:2022, CE marked and UKCA compliant, and supplied with a Certificate of Conformity.
