Mini Digger Augers

Mini digger augers turn a 0.75 to 5 tonne mini digger into a post hole borer for fencing, tree planting and footings. Each Auger Torque earth drill below runs off your digger's auxiliary circuit and takes an S2 or S4 auger, on a hitch made to fit your machine.

Mini digger size Earth drill Torque Oil flow Hole sizes
0.75–1 tonnes Auger Torque 1200 1,164Nm 15–32 l/min 100–300mm
1–2 tonnes Auger Torque X1500 1,496Nm 20–45 l/min 100–400mm
1–2.5 tonnes Auger Torque X2000 2,190Nm 25–57 l/min 100–450mm
1.5–3 tonnes Auger Torque X2500 2,847Nm 27–65 l/min 100–500mm
2–4 tonnes Auger Torque 3000 MAX 2,877Nm 27–75 l/min 100–600mm
2.5–4.5 tonnes Auger Torque 3500 MAX 3,614Nm 40–85 l/min 100–750mm
3–5 tonnes Auger Torque 4500 MAX 4,499Nm 50–95 l/min 100–900mm

Add the matching auger, the S2 for the 1200 or the S4 for the rest, and a hitch: the 1200 single pin hitch, X1500–X2500 hitch or 3000–4500 MAX hitch. For bigger machines, see all our excavator augers.

Not sure which size you need? Our guide on what size auger you need matches every earth drill to machine weight and hydraulics, or send us your machine details and we'll recommend one.

Choosing a Mini Digger Auger

Match the earth drill to your mini digger's weight, then check its auxiliary flow:

  • 1200: 0.75 to 1 tonne micro diggers, holes up to 300mm with S2 augers, 15–32 l/min.
  • X1500: 1 to 2 tonnes, holes up to 400mm, 20–45 l/min.
  • X2000: 1 to 2.5 tonnes, holes up to 450mm, 25–57 l/min.
  • X2500: 1.5 to 3 tonnes, holes up to 500mm, 27–65 l/min.
  • 3000 MAX: 2 to 4 tonnes, holes up to 600mm, 27–75 l/min.
  • 3500 MAX: 2.5 to 4.5 tonnes, holes up to 750mm, 40–85 l/min.
  • 4500 MAX: 3 to 5 tonnes, holes up to 900mm, 50–95 l/min.

All but the 1200 take S4 augers with a 65mm round hub.

Does My Mini Digger Have the Right Hydraulics?

An earth drill needs a two-way auxiliary circuit, so the auger can turn both ways. Many mini diggers have auxiliary hydraulics fitted, but check the flow and pressure in your manual or spec sheet against the drive. If you're not sure, send us your machine details and we'll check.

Common Jobs for a Mini Digger Auger

  • Fence posts and gate posts
  • Tree and hedge planting
  • Footings for decking, sheds and garden buildings
  • Sign posts and small foundations

Frequently Asked Questions

Which mini digger auger do I need?

Match the earth drill to your digger's weight in the table above, then check its auxiliary flow. Our guide on what size auger you need covers it step by step, with examples for 1.5 and 3 tonne machines.

What is a post hole borer?

Another name for an earth drill and auger. The earth drill turns the auger to bore the hole.

Will a mini digger auger work in hard ground?

Choose tungsten teeth for harder, abrasive and stony ground. For very hard and fractured rock, rock teeth are available on the S5 and S6 augers for bigger machines.

How long does delivery take?

Usually 7 to 10 working days. Hitches are made to your measurements, so we confirm them before anything is supplied. Ask us if you need it for a fixed date.
