10–16 Tonne Excavator Selector Grab – 1,700mm Opening
Delivery within 7–10 Working Days*
The 10–16 tonne excavator selector grab is a heavy-duty hydraulic sorting grab for demolition, material and waste handling, and stone or rock processing. It opens to 1,700mm, weighs 826kg without the headstock, and runs off a single double-acting hydraulic circuit.
Its toeplates pinch together for a tight grip and keep meeting even as the cutting edges wear. The reversible, bolt-on hardened cutting edges and tine-style legs are built to stay rigid in harsh environments, a pressure relief valve stops the cylinder putting too much force on the edges and legs, and manual stoppers protect the cylinder from overextension.
This fixed model uses a 2-way crosslink instead of a 360° rotator, which keeps the cost down. If you want to turn the grab to any angle, the 12–15 tonne rotating selector grab adds a hydraulic rotator.

Fixed or Rotating Selector Grab?
A fixed selector grab is the cost-effective choice when you can line the machine up with the material. A rotating selector grab turns through 360°, so you can work in tight spots and place material precisely without repositioning, but it needs a second double-acting circuit. Compare both in our excavator selector grabs range.
Hydraulic Requirements
The grab runs off a single double-acting hydraulic circuit, at a working pressure of 200 bar. Connections vary between machines and quick hitches, so send us details or photos of yours before ordering. Don't assume hoses, couplings or installation parts are included unless they are listed on your quote.
Excavator and Quick-Hitch Compatibility
Machine weight is only a starting point. Excavators in the same weight class can use different pin sizes, linkage widths, quick hitches and auxiliary hydraulics, so please send us the following when you order:
- Excavator make and model
- Machine operating weight
- Quick hitch make and model, if you run one
- Pin diameter and pin centres
- Dipper width
- Details of your auxiliary hydraulic circuits
Our guide on how to measure an excavator for a new bucket shows how to take the pin measurements. If you can't measure, send us photos of your hitch and we'll help.
Delivery and Ordering
Each selector grab is supplied with a headstock to suit your confirmed machine and hitch. Delivery is usually within 7 to 10 working days, although factory lead times can change this. If you need the grab for a fixed date, contact us before ordering so we can confirm the current lead time.
10–16 Tonne Selector Grab FAQs
What is a selector grab used for?
Selector grabs are built for demolition, sorting waste, material handling and processing stone or rock. The tine-style legs and hardened edges suit heavy-duty work as well as general material handling.
What hydraulics does it need?
A single double-acting hydraulic circuit. The rotating selector grabs need two double-acting circuits, one more than this fixed model.
Is the headstock included?
Yes. It's supplied with a headstock designed to fit your machine, so send us your excavator and hitch details when you order.
Will it fit my 10–16 tonne excavator?
Machine weight is the starting point, but excavators in the same class can use different pins, linkage widths and quick hitches. Send us your machine model and hitch details and we'll confirm fitment before the grab is supplied.
Other Sizes
For a smaller or larger machine, see the 6–9 tonne selector grab or the 16–26 tonne selector grab. Compare every size, fixed and rotating, in our excavator selector grabs range, or browse all our excavator grabs and grapples.
