4–7 Tonne Excavator Breaker – Economy or Professional
Delivery within 7–10 Working Days*
The 4–7 tonne excavator breaker is a hydraulic breaker, also called a hydraulic hammer or pecker, for breaking concrete, rock and other hard material with a 4–7 tonne excavator. Choose the Economy breaker for occasional work, or the Professional breaker, with a silenced box-type housing and auto-lube, for continuous heavy rock work.
Both run on 40–70 l/min of oil at 110–140 bar from your excavator's hammer circuit and drive a 68mm chisel at 500–900 blows per minute. The Professional model hits harder, with 690 joules of impact energy against 509 joules for the Economy model.
Economy or Professional?
- Economy: for occasional or lower-volume work, plant hire and non-professional users. It keeps the cost down without giving up essential breaking performance, and comes with a 12-month warranty.
- Professional: for continuous heavy rock work. The box-type housing silences the breaker and protects it from the elements, auto-lube keeps it greased, and adjustable flow lets you tune the impact frequency and hit energy. It comes with a 2-year warranty.
At this size the Professional model also delivers more impact energy: 690 joules against 509 joules.

Hydraulic Requirements
The breaker runs off your excavator's hammer circuit, which needs to supply 40–70 l/min at an operating pressure of 110–140 bar, and it uses 12mm hoses. Running a breaker outside its flow range hurts performance and can damage it, so check your machine's auxiliary flow before you order, or send us your machine details and we'll check it for you. Don't assume hoses, couplings or installation parts are included unless they are listed on your quote.
Excavator and Quick-Hitch Compatibility
Machine weight is only a starting point. Excavators in the same weight class can use different pin sizes, linkage widths, quick hitches and hydraulic setups, so please send us the following when you order:
- Excavator make and model
- Machine operating weight
- Quick hitch make and model, if you run one
- Pin diameter and pin centres
- Dipper width
- Your hammer circuit flow and pressure, if you know them
Our guide on how to measure an excavator for a new bucket shows how to take the pin measurements, and they're the same for a breaker. If you can't measure, send us photos of your hitch and we'll help.
Delivery and Ordering
Each breaker is confirmed to suit your machine and hitch before it's supplied. Delivery is usually within 7 to 10 working days, although factory lead times can change this. If you need the breaker for a fixed date, contact us before ordering so we can confirm the current lead time.
4–7 Tonne Breaker FAQs
Economy or Professional breaker?
Choose the Economy breaker for occasional work, plant hire or lower-volume jobs. Choose the Professional breaker for continuous heavy rock work: it has a silenced box-type housing, auto-lube and adjustable flow, more impact energy (690 joules against 509), plus a 2-year warranty instead of 12 months.
What hydraulics does it need?
A hammer circuit that supplies 40–70 l/min at 110–140 bar. Send us your machine's auxiliary hydraulic details and we'll confirm the setup before you order.
Will it fit my 4–7 tonne excavator?
Machine weight is the starting point, but excavators in the same class can use different pins, quick hitches and hydraulic setups. Send us your machine model, hitch details and hammer circuit specs, and we'll confirm fitment before the breaker is supplied.
How do I look after it?
Grease the chisel regularly, following the manufacturer's guidance (the Professional model has auto-lube), and check the hoses and fixings before each job. Don't fire the breaker unless the chisel is pressed against the material, and never use it to lever or lift.
What warranty does it come with?
12 months on the Economy model and 2 years on the Professional model.
