The 18–30 tonne rotating excavator selector grab puts a 360° rotator on a heavy-duty sorting grab for demolition, waste handling, material processing and stone or rock handling. It opens to 1,960mm, weighs 1,560kg and turns to any angle, so you can work precisely in tight or awkward spots.

Reversible, bolt-on hardened cutting edges and perforated shell-style legs stand up to tough work, and the toeplates keep pinching together as the edges wear, so the grip stays consistent. A pressure relief valve stops excessive force damaging the cylinder, edges or legs, and manual stoppers stop the legs opening wider than the cylinder can safely take.

It needs two double-acting hydraulic circuits and comes with a headstock designed to fit your machine. If you don't need rotation, the 16–26 tonne selector grab does the same job for less on a single circuit.

Why Choose a Rotating Selector Grab?

A fixed grab can only work at the angle the dipper presents it. The rotator turns the whole grab through 360°, which pays off when you're sorting mixed material, placing loads precisely, loading skips and wagons, or working around obstacles. Compare fixed and rotating models in our excavator selector grabs range.

Hydraulic Requirements

The grab needs two double-acting hydraulic circuits, and the operating pressure is 150 bar. Connections vary between machines and quick hitches, so send us details or photos of yours before ordering. Don't assume hoses, couplings or installation parts are included unless they are listed on your quote.

Excavator and Quick-Hitch Compatibility

Machine weight is only a starting point. Excavators in the same weight class can use different pin sizes, linkage widths, quick hitches and auxiliary hydraulics, so please send us the following when you order:

  • Excavator make and model
  • Machine operating weight
  • Quick hitch make and model, if you run one
  • Pin diameter and pin centres
  • Dipper width
  • Details of your auxiliary hydraulic circuits

Our guide on how to measure an excavator for a new bucket shows how to take the pin measurements. If you can't measure, send us photos of your hitch and we'll help.

Delivery and Ordering

Each rotating selector grab is supplied with a headstock to suit your confirmed machine and hitch. Delivery is usually within 7 to 10 working days, although factory lead times can change this. If you need the grab for a fixed date, contact us before ordering so we can confirm the current lead time.

18–30 Tonne Rotating Selector Grab FAQs

Why choose a rotating selector grab?

The 360° rotator lets you turn the grab to match the material, work in tight spots and place loads precisely without repositioning the machine.

What hydraulics does it need?

Two double-acting hydraulic circuits. Send us details of your machine's auxiliary hydraulics and we'll confirm the setup before you order.

Is the headstock included?

Yes. It comes with a headstock designed to fit your machine, so send us your excavator and hitch details when you order.

Will it fit my 18–30 tonne excavator?

Machine weight is the starting point, but excavators in the same class can use different pins, linkage widths and quick hitches. Send us your machine model, hitch details and hydraulic setup, and we'll confirm fitment before the grab is supplied.
