Auger Torque 7000 MAX Earth Drill for 5–7 Tonne Excavators
Delivery within 7–10 Working Days*
The Auger Torque 7000 MAX earth drill is a hydraulic auger drive for 5–7 tonne excavators. It turns an auger with up to 6,931Nm of torque to drill post holes, tree pits and foundation holes from 150mm to 900mm across.
It runs on 60–135 l/min of oil at 80–260 bar from your excavator's auxiliary circuit, and its 75mm square output shaft takes Auger Torque S5 augers. It's supplied with hoses and adaptors. Quick release couplers aren't included.
What You Need to Start Drilling
The earth drill is the hydraulic drive unit that turns the auger. To start drilling you'll also need:
- A hitch to mount it on your excavator: the 5500–8000 MAX hitch, made to fit your machine's pins and dipper.
- An auger: the S5 auger in the diameter you need, up to 900mm with this drive.
Key Features
- Up to 6,931Nm of torque at 260 bar
- Recommended for 5–7 tonne excavators
- Drills holes from 150mm to 900mm across with S5 augers
- 75mm square output shaft
- Epicyclic (planetary) gearbox to multiply the motor's torque
- High-quality hydraulic motor
- Non-dislodgement shaft: a one-piece shaft that can't drop out of the drive
- Output shaft bearings that Auger Torque says are up to 50% larger than competing drives'
- Forged hood ears for extra strength where the hood takes the most strain
- Supplied with hoses and adaptors (quick release couplers not included)

Hydraulic Requirements
The 7000 MAX needs a two-way auxiliary circuit that can supply 60–135 l/min at up to 260 bar. Oil flow sets how fast the auger turns and pressure sets the torque, so a machine at the low end of the range will drill more slowly. The circuit needs to run both ways so you can reverse the auger to free it. Check your machine's auxiliary flow and pressure before you order, or send us your machine details and we'll check them for you.
Fitting It to Your Excavator
Machine weight is the starting point, but excavators in the same class use different pins, dippers and quick hitches, so the hitch is made to measure. When you order, send us:
- Your excavator make, model and operating weight
- Front and rear pin diameters, pin centres and dipper width
- Your quick hitch make and model, if you use one
- Your auxiliary circuit's flow and pressure, if you know them
Our guide on how to measure an excavator for a new bucket shows how to take the pin measurements, and they're the same for an auger hitch.
Delivery and Ordering
We confirm the earth drill, hitch and hydraulics suit your machine before anything is supplied. Delivery is usually within 7 to 10 working days, although factory lead times can change this. If you need it for a fixed date, contact us before ordering so we can confirm the current lead time.
7000 MAX Earth Drill FAQs
What size excavator does the 7000 MAX suit?
Auger Torque recommends it for 5–7 tonne excavators. Your machine's auxiliary circuit also needs to supply 60–135 l/min at 80–260 bar.
What size holes can it drill?
From 150mm to 900mm across with Auger Torque S5 augers, depending on the ground.
Does it come with a hitch and auger?
No. It comes with hoses and adaptors, and you choose the hitch and S5 auger separately, so you get the right pin size and hole diameter.
What hydraulics does it need?
A two-way auxiliary circuit that supplies 60–135 l/min at 80–260 bar.
Which augers fit it?
Auger Torque S5 augers with a 75mm square hub. See the S5 auger for diameters and teeth.
Other Sizes
