The manual quick hitch is the simplest way to speed up bucket changes on a mini digger. You hook the front pin of the bucket from the cab, curl it in so the rear pin holes line up, then slide the rear pin in and lock it. There's nothing hydraulic to fit or maintain.

It's an entry-level hitch for 1 to 8 tonne excavators, made to suit your machine's pins and dipper and the pins of the attachments you want to pick up.

Using a Quick Hitch Safely

Before you start work, always check the attachment is locked on: crowd it in and lift it clear of the ground to test it, and look at the locking mechanism. Never work with anyone near the bucket while you're coupling or uncoupling. HSE publishes industry guidance on quick hitches, and our guide to excavator quick hitch types explains how each type locks.

Measurements We Need

A quick hitch has to fit both your machine and your attachments, so when you order, send us:

  • Excavator make, model and operating weight
  • Dipper pin and link pin diameters, pin centres and dipper width
  • The pin diameters and pin centres of the buckets and attachments you want to pick up

Our guide on how to measure an excavator for a new bucket shows how to take them. If you can't measure, send us photos and we'll help.

Delivery and Ordering

Each quick hitch is confirmed to suit your machine before it's supplied. Delivery is usually within 7 to 10 working days, although factory lead times can change this. If you need it for a fixed date, contact us before ordering so we can confirm the current lead time.

Manual Quick Hitch FAQs

Which quick hitch do I need?

A manual hitch is the cheapest and simplest. A Springlock hitch locks the rear pin for you, then you fit the safety pin. A hydraulic coupler like the Miller GTS or Powerlatch changes attachments from the cab. Our guide to excavator quick hitch types compares them.

What do you need from me?

Your excavator make, model and operating weight, its pin diameters, pin centres and dipper width, and the pin sizes of the attachments you want to pick up. We confirm everything before it's supplied.

Does it need hydraulics?

No. It's mechanical, with nothing hydraulic to fit or maintain.
