Excavator Auger Bits

Excavator auger bits from Auger Torque, from 100mm to 2.4m across, with earth, tungsten or rock teeth. Each series fits a group of earth drills by its hub, so start with the drive you have.

Auger Fits earth drills Hub Length Diameters Teeth
Auger Torque S2 1200 50mm round 900mm 100–350mm Earth or tungsten
Auger Torque S4 X1500 to 4500 MAX 65mm round 1,200mm 100–900mm Earth or tungsten
Auger Torque S5 5500 MAX to 8000 MAX 75mm square 1,500mm 150–1,000mm Earth, tungsten or rock
Auger Torque S6 12000 MAX to 25000 MAX 75mm square 1,875mm 150–1,500mm Earth, tungsten or rock
Auger Torque PA 35,000 MAX to 80,000 MAX 110mm square 2.3m or 3.3m 300–2,400mm Earth, rock or TCH
Auger Torque hard rock auger S6 and PA drives 75mm or 110mm square 2.4m 300–1,000mm Rotating rock picks

Choose earth teeth for clay, topsoil and mixed ground, tungsten for harder, abrasive and stony ground, and rock teeth for very hard and fractured rock. For rock that stops a standard rock auger, use the hard rock auger. To drill deeper than the auger's length, add an auger extension, and for spares, see our auger teeth and pilots. Keep to your earth drill's recommended hole size, shown on each auger drive, or browse all our excavator augers.

Which Auger Fits My Earth Drill?

The auger's hub has to match the drive's output shaft:

  • S2: 50mm round hub, 900mm long, for the 1200 on micro diggers.
  • S4: 65mm round hub, 1,200mm long, for X1500 to 4500 MAX drives on 1 to 5 tonne mini diggers.
  • S5: 75mm square hub, 1,500mm long, for 5500 MAX to 8000 MAX drives on 4.5 to 8 tonne excavators.
  • S6: 75mm square hub, 1,875mm long, for 12000 MAX to 25000 MAX drives on 8 to 22 tonne excavators.

Choosing the Diameter

Choose the hole size the job needs, within your drive's recommended range. A wider auger needs more torque, so bigger holes take a bigger drive. The auger's length sets how deep you can drill in one go.

Earth, Tungsten or Rock Teeth?

  • Earth teeth: for clay, topsoil and mixed ground. Available on every series.
  • Tungsten teeth: for harder, abrasive and stony ground. Available on every series.
  • Rock teeth: for very hard and fractured rock. Available on S5 and S6.

Built to Last

  • Shock Lock tooth locking system
  • Shallow pitch flights
  • Heavy-duty tube construction and a precision constant spiral cut
  • Optional hard-facing on S5 and S6 augers (ask us)

Frequently Asked Questions

Will any auger fit my earth drill?

No. The hub has to match the drive's output shaft: 50mm round, 65mm round or 75mm square. Check your drive in the list above.

What diameter auger do I need?

The diameter your post, pile or plan calls for, within your earth drill's recommended range. Our guide on what size auger you need lists the range for every drive.

How long does delivery take?

Usually 7 to 10 working days. Ask us if you need it for a fixed date.
